Oo-PS is a collaborative research and design practice initiated by two creative/romantic partners working across architecture, product design, art, and speculative fiction. Emerging from divergent disciplinary backgrounds but united by a shared suspicion of certainty, Oo-PS produces narrative-driven artwork, writing, music and objects as ways of anticipating sets of future socio-environmental challenges and designing theoretical methods to meet them. Blending disaster preparedness and artistic inquiry, the practice is structured as a rotating set of offices with the capacity to engage with issues that span in scale from the handheld to the regional.

Oo-PS operates with a devotion to hopeful pessimism, a view that acknowledges the uncertainty and fragility of current socioeconomic and environmental conditions, but refuses to read these attributes as endpoints, choosing instead to use them as conditions to work within. Seeking neither resolution nor despair, the objects and operations OoPS produces attempt to imagine modes of operating despite/within uncertainty. Oo-PS attempts to reconcile disciplines, foster hope, and build resilience in the face of a deeply unpredictable future.

Nefeli Vitoraki is a Greek-Indonesian designer and student based in Athens, GR and London, GB. Through her work she seeks to design solutions that integrate diverse perspectives to generate joy. Working between technological design, graphic communication, ceramics, and woodworking, her work takes the form of speculative art objects, furniture and practical hardware, developed through her studies and her involvement in a series of studios and start-ups in Athens, New York and London.

Objects of Productive Synergy
focus on creating tangible, practical design solutions that act as gestures towards unrealized futures. The objects are grounded in speculative narratives, and range from furniture designed in anticipation of material scarcity, pills for combatting superstitious anxiety, and leather products in a post-meat-farm world.

Constantinos Gallis is a Greek-Swiss artist, musician and student based in Cambridge, MA and Athens, GR. Interested in the effects of urban change and decay on the natural environment and society, Constantinos has explored his interests through academic research and teaching, large scale installations, performances, audio-visual investigations, and practical work experience at firms in Athens, New York and London.

Operations of Paranoid Speculation explore the ways creative interventions can anticipate future crises. Projects range from deployable toolkits or manuals designed to support neighborhoods facing population decline, to speculative bodies of music recorded with equiptment damaged by environmental disasters, or unsolicited strategic consulatations to a yet-unformed Green Party.
